In 1947, Pilot Kenneth Arnold observed a series of strange objects flying over Mount Rainier, Washington… and once the story made its way into American newspapers, a new cultural phenomenon was born. However, does the history of unidentified aerial phenomena really begin in 1947, or are there deeper historical threads that point to an earlier presence of the phenomenon?
Joining us this week are researchers David Marler and Barry Greenwood, two of the foremost experts on historical documentation of the UFO phenomenon. Along with a discussion about their studies of UFOs in the historical record, we also get an important update from Marler about the launch of a new historical facility devoted to the study of the phenomenon, this week on The Micah Hanks Program.
